Plas Maenan is a lovely Edwardian Country House which has been lovingly refurbished by its owners Caroline and James. There are a small number of rooms in the house, and these will be used by members of the wedding party. There are however lots of hotels near-by for guests to stay.
Dubbed “The Mansion on the Rock”, it sits on a rock shelf overlooking the Conwy Valley and was the first wedding venue we went to visit at Christmas 2009.
We loved it straight away - It was everything we wanted. 11 other venues followed (just to make sure!!) but they were just not the same - and it is also just own the road from Linda and Brian’s house!

Finding your way....
Plas Maenan’s driveway is opposite Dolgarrog Railway Station. Take the A55 Expressway to the Llandudno Junction exit and follow the A470 towards Betws-y-Coed for approximately 6 miles, until you see the sign for Maenan village. Slow down at this point or you may overshoot! Plas Maenan Country House is on the left, opposite Dolgarrog Station.Alternatively...
From the opposite direction on the A5, take the A470 at Betws-y-Coed and staying on the A470 go through Llanrwst (keeping to the left) and when you reach Maenan village look out for the hotel sign on your right just after Maenan Abbey. Take care when turning into the drive.
